The Martinsville Agricultural Fair has held their annual barnyard scramble for more than 50 years. Now an animal rights group has created a YouTube video calling for an end to the event claiming it breaks two Illinois state laws and is cruel to the animals.
Steve Hindi is the president of SHARK. He says what he saw from the Martinsville Agricultural Fair's barnyard scramble was troubling.
"What they found enjoyable we found disturbing," said Hindi. Clearly there were numerous instances where animals were dropped, picked up inappropriately, kicked and some of that stuff was on purpose."
