DEAR FRIENDS,
DEAR FRIENDS,
On March 15, 2018, SHARK documented a live pigeon shoot held at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The pigeon shoot was a fundraiser for Ducks Unlimited. We will release video of the cruel shoot in the near future, but for now we wanted to let you know that one of the Ducks Unlimited shooters recklessly drove his car off the road and right at our people!
The Ducks Unlimited pigeon shooter drove off the road and right at SHARK's investigators
This was no accident, it was a deliberate move that could have either seriously injured or cost the lives of our people. The matter was reported to the Scott County Sheriff's Department, and video was provided as evidence. As far as we know, as of March 21, 2018, no action has been taken against the driver. We will update this description if law enforcement chooses to do its job.
SHARK first became aware of the Ducks Unlimited (DU) pigeon shoot in 2014. After releasing a video calling on DU to cancel it, they actually did. In fact, in an email sent to us by Matt Coffey, Senior Communications Specialist for DU, it stated:
"We have policies in place holding our staff and local volunteers to high ethical and moral standards, and do not condone wanton waste of wildlife or other animals. To avoid the potential for wanton waste, the event committee has decided to change the live pigeon event to a sporting clays shoot.”
Tragically, the following year Ducks Unlimited caved to pressure from pigeon shooters and the shoot was held again.
Ducks Unlimited admits pigeon shoots are unethical and wasteful, and they shut down the 2015 shoot because of that. That they then started them up again proves Ducks Unlimited has no ethics or moral standards, and that their true mission is the mass-slaughter of animals for fun.
Last year at the 2017 Ducks Unlimited pigeon shoot, the owner of the club, Bill Urseth, assaulted Janet Enoch, a SHARK investigator. This year, one of Ducks Unlimited pigeon shooters nearly killed multiple people. We now know that Ducks Unlimited doesn’t care about human or animal life. It's just about the pleasure they get from killing.

Please contact the following major donors and sponsors of Ducks Unlimited. Show them this video and politely ask them if they want to be associated with people who assault women and threaten physical violence to those who oppose them:

"Elephants are facing extinction and this is no time to strip them of protection. Trophy hunting drives the slaughter of elephants, increases demand for their body parts, and projects a double standard that makes it harder to tackle ivory poaching. We call on you to do all you can to reverse the US decision to allow the import of elephant trophies, before it is too late."
