United Poultry Concerns Statement for SHARK Condemning U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe for Shooting Pigeons for Pleasure, Sept 24, 2014

There is nothing sporting about a pigeon shoot. I have attended many in Pennsylvania in past years - as a protester - and the suffering of the wounded pigeons and sadism of the shooters will stay in my mind forever as an epitome of pure human evil and animal agony. There is something wrong with the type of person or culture that treats creatures this way. In other words, there is something wrong with U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe for taking pleasure in wounding and killing helpless birds.

Sen. Inhofe’s behavior demonstrates his personal cowardice, depravity, and delight in cruelty. His behavior demonstrates a lack of respect for living beings and their feelings and even hatred of birds and Nature. He is not fit for public service.

United Poultry Concerns totally supports SHARK’s campaign to end pigeon shoots and to expose the likes of Sen. Inhofe for being the miserable OAF that he is.  It is sickening that an individual like Jim Inhofe is in public office. Hopefully, Oklahoma voters will boot him out in the next election. Presumably, the majority of Oklahoma citizens do not support the callous, craven cruelty toward birds and other creatures exemplified by Sen. Inhofe and will not care to be represented by him in any sphere ever again.
