Charles Howard "Magoo" Dixon is the man who runs the illegal cockfighting pit called "Hawk's Nest" located in Pike County, KY. Hawk's Nest is perhaps the biggest and most persistent cockfight we are aware of in Kentucky. They are persistent because the police, including and particularly the state police, will not stop them.
Rick Johnson runs CJ's Pit located just outside London, KY in Laurel County. This pit has been active for decades! CJ’s has a direct connection in the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office. Her name is Jacklyn Johnson and she is a bailiff with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department. You can read more here about Jacklyn Johnson here.
Tim Sizemore currently runs the illegal Blackberry Pit located in Pike County, KY. He formerly ran the Riverside Pit in Clay County. Blackberry, along with Hawk's Nest, is one of the biggest and most persistent cockfights we are aware of in Kentucky. They are persistent because the police, including and particularly the state police, will not stop them. Fights are held on Saturday Nights. The Blackberry Pit is also well-known for being a hot spot for drug and prostitution activity.
At the end of May, 2021, SHARK was in Bartlesville, OK, to check out a suspected cockfighting and dogfighting property. When we went to the property, owned by Corbin Wren, we found dogs and roosters living in cruel and disgusting conditions, including a dog who was starving and covered in flies.
